Ags Host Steers In Golf Saturday THE BATTALION Thursday, April 24, 1969 College Station, Texas Page 7 What well could be the title- deciding match in SWC golf for 1969 is on tap here Saturday when the Texas Longhorns and Texas Aggies tangle at A&M’s on-campus course. Coach Henry Ransom’s Aggies currently held a two-point lead over Texas in the SWC stand ings. The Aggies are 21-3 and Texas is 19-6. The Saturday match begins at 1 p.m. Aggie players will be Reggie Majors, Duke Butler, Richard Ellis and Bill Wade. That four some last week won the team four-ball title in the All-America Intercollegiate tournament in Houston. Texas’ foursome includes Chip Stewart, Rik Massengale, Dean Overturf, and Tom Kite. That group finished second, one shot behind Houston, in the team medal division of the All-Ameri ca tournament. A big win Saturday could vault the Aggies into a strong position to win their sixth title in the 1960’s. A&M won in 1960, 61, 62, 63 and 67. But, both A&M and Texas have two more matches after Satur day. The Aggies have Baylor here next Tuesday and then go to TCU on Friday, May 2.
