Carol Sullivan led the Aggies with two goals, and teammates Sue Tesar, Carol Smith and Carol Gittinger padded the score with one goal each. “We took 18 people up there to play,’’ said Head Coach Rob Borge- son. “They didn’t play quite as good as they could. It seems Texas A&M plays just as good as they have to.” Sullivan’s two goals upped her fall total to 10. Earlier this year, the senior scored five goals in a 9-0 win over Trinity, and three in a 4-3 vic tory over Stephen F. Austin. The Aggies travel to Austin Satur day to take on Texas. Sunday, the team makes its way to Waco for a match against Baylor. “We’ve started out a little stronger this year than we have in the past,” said Borgeson. Texas A&M has scored 18 goals in its four games. LOUPOT’S BUYING USED BOOKS NOW! Halftime was more than a pleasant, forgettable experience Saturday. Both the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and the Marching Owl Band, better known as the MOB, put on the best shows seen around here in some time. For the MOB, it was history in the making, since it had not journeyed to College Station since 1972. The reason was an infamous incident at Rice Stadium in 1973. What happened there was an on- the-field halftime satire of the Aggie Band by the MOB. First it played an out-of-tune version of the Aggiei ame and Hymm and then it formedanoul eep up w step block-T. This weekend, on the eve of their California trip, the Aggie women played what one team member call ed sluggish volleyball at Houston’s Melcher gymnasium, and if it wasn’t for a gutsy comeback in their last game against Lamar, would have left the place without a victory.
