Rollie White Coliseum by a score of 68-32. points. The only other Ag to score in the double figures was Von Bunn with 14. The Ladies had a slow first half hitting 43 percent of their field goals and 64 percent of their free throws. But slow for the Aggies was fast for the Cardinals. They connected on only 14 percent of their field goals and 16 percent of their free throws. Aggie coach Wanda Bender said her team went into the game as cold as ice. The Ladies had a strong night on the boards. Crawford, Jo Troell, Susan Kimbro and Cindy Gough each had eight rebounds. Crawford, playing with a slightly injured ankle, said that she was very proud of the team s performance against Lamar. Early in the second half, it looked like Lamar was finally getting them selves together as they pulled to within 15 points of the Ags. “Lamar came out of the dressing room fired up. Bender said. “Luck ily, our girls started firing up also. Pat Parks, the head coach of the Cardinals said her team had a mis erable game. “I was anxious at the first of the game,” she said, “but I was also con fident that the cold streak would end soon. Julia Crawford, a 5-11 freshman from College Station was the lead ing scorer of the game with 20 “Lamar beat us on their home court and so we really needed to win this game, she said. “The Cardinals came into the game with an ex tremely low level of confidence which hurt their game. It decreased as the game progressed and it caused them to miss a lot of easy shots. This increased our conf idence which helped us blow the game wide open.” “You can’t expect to win a game or even stay' in it when you hit only 20 percent of your shots, she said. “1 was very disappointed with their play." The Cardinals finished the game hitting 20 percent of their field goals and 33 percent of their free throws. The Ladies next home game will be against the Texas Tech Red Raid ers this Thursday at 5:15 in G. Rollie White Coliseum. When you think about it—isn't the point of life reaching outi Only when people are secure, brave and open enough to reach out to others does life begin to yield the joy, the fulfillment, we expect from it. Most of us think we are reaching out: for the job, the future, others in need, th<? ones we love. But, if we're honest, we aren't reaching out at all. We're simply grabbing for security: a life that's safe, predictable, and only goes so far...limited, and perhaps, limiting. THE PAULISTS believe in reaching out: to people who need to hear The Gospel, people who are lonely and confused, people searching for truth, for something to believe in—in college dorms, on city streets, in slums, in suburbs, or wherever they may be. We reach out because we're missionaries of the Catholic Church, a group of priests dedicated to proclaiming The Gospel in our times because we believe God is reaching out to every one of us If you think you can reach out as we do, if you think God may be calling you to a life of service as an inventive, modern, dedicated priest, write THE PAULISTS—a group of men who share a holy vision and live that vision in a free and friendly way.
