Par* « M. 1M» THE battalion C-l Nails Down One Title, Sets Sights On Another Company C-l nailed down one intramural championship and be gan staking a convincing claim toward another in action on cam pus courts early this week. Saber C emerged as the Class A handball champion by defeat ing Squadron 1 in a best-two-of- three series. The champs’ three doubles teams consist of Paul Ihrke and Russell Hawkins, Jim Culbert and Jerry Wheaton and Milton Huebner and John Ferga- C-l, commanded by Terry Jungman of Rio Medina, also sent its promising looking cage crew to a second straight win, 51-14, over Squadron 9. Miles Wells had 14 points. Jack Bald win and Jim Hooten 12 each. E-2 looks to be a top contender in the same league. Randy Clark led the mascot unit to its second win in two outings by taking Squadron 13, 43-28. In Class C, Baptist Students downed LSA, 33-11; AYI defeated Davis-Gary, 36-12, and Joe B i e r m a n led Hughes Hall in a 30-24 edging of Crocker Hall. Three one-TD shutout victories marked Class B football results. B-2 downed A-l, A-2 scotched D- 1 and F-l blanked Squadron 10. A-2 gained the playoffs with a perfect record. Two games wound up wtih goose eggs on both sides, C-l and C-2 taking wins on penetrations over B-l and Squadron 3, respectively.
