Retiring as president of the as sociation is James W. Aston, ‘38 president of the Republic National Bank of Dallas. Frank Harvey, ‘41, Wichita Falls oilman, will be in stalled as the new president. Also, on this date, the IGth an nual meeting of A&M Club Offic ers will be held. The club officers of the 180 A&M Clubs will be in vited to the campus to participate in the discussions relating to A&M Club activities. A third meeting on this date will be the 11th annual Class A- gents Conference. According to J. B. Hervey, executive secretary of the Association of Former Stu dents, agents of the 63 organized classes will convene to discuss class participation in the develop ment fund, class reunions, class letters and other class activities. The total expected attendance for the Jan. 27-28 meetings is 250. More than $4.6 million has been appropriated for cancer research by the Tobacco Industry Research Committee. HOMER DENNING First Wing C.O. and Ross Volun teer platoon leader, Homer is from Bryson majoring in marketing. With a 2.6 GPR, he is president of the Marketing Society and a member of Phi Eta Sigma. He is also president of Senior Court ‘A’. DAVID BEAUCHAMP JR. For the past two years David has been recording secretary of the Civilian Student Council where he represents Law Hall. A chemical engineering major from Bishop, he has a 2.5 GPR and was elected a member of Phi Eta Sigma in 1958. JOHN FENLEY Member of the Student Senate and Arts and Sciences Council, John is an Opportunity Award Scholar ship winner with a 2.0 GPR. The Shamrock accounting major is a Ross Volunteer member of Second Brigade Staff and a DMS. JACK HARRINGTON JR. President of the Singing Cadets, Jack is an education major from Plano. With a 1.8 GPR, he is on Third Brigade Staff, Corps Honor Council and is a DMS. He works as an undergraduate assistant in the Department of Biology. MARTIN LEWIS BOWERS With a 1.9 GPR, this mechanical engineering major from Galveston is the School of Engineering’s stu dent delegate to the Century Study Resident Instructor and Student Life Committee. An R. C. Baker Foundation Scholarship winner, he is also president of the Milner Hall Council. CHARLES ‘CHUCK’ CLOUD First Group commander, Chuck is a distinguished Air Force ROTC cadet. He was president of his freshman class and is now a mem ber of the Arts and Sciences Council, Election Commission and Cadet Court ‘B’. From Kerens majoring in Economics, he has a 1.7 GPR. ELMER GOINS Associate editor of The Engineer, Elmer is a aeronautical engineer ing major from McGehee, Ark. He has a 2.4 GPR and is a member of Sigma Gamma Tau, Tau Betta Pi, and Phi Eta Sigma. A disting uished Air Force ROTC cadet, he is C.O. of Squadron 4 and a Ross Volunteer. GARY LIVELY Corps Chaplain, Gary is president of the Corps Honor Council and co-author of the Aggie Code of Honor. An architecture major from Bossier City, La., he is a member of the Inter-Faith Council, Election Commission and recording secre tary of Senior Courts ‘A’ and ‘B’. He has a 1.7 GPR. Grandma Moses Dies At Age 101 HOOSICK FALLS, N. Y. (AP) —Grandma Moses who took up painting in her 70s and became one of the nation’s best known artists, died Wednesday at the age of 101. The witty, little artist who achieved worldwide fame late in life had been confined to a nurs ing home, the Hoosick Falls Health Center, since July. Her physician. Dr. Clayton Shaw, said Grandma died after being in an oxygen tent at the hospital most of the day. Christmas Concert At SFA Monday A Christmas concert by the Chorus of Konzert Gessellschaft will be presented Monday at 8 p.m. at the Stephen F. Austin High School auditorium in Bryan. Soloists, ensembles and an or chestra will be featured on the program under the direction of William Guthrie. This is the group’s second full season of performances which in clude coffee concerts, chamber type and formal concerts. Pui’pose of the group is to pro vide performers in this area with an opportunity to play the world’s great music.
