The Mertzon accounting major has a 1.7 GPR and is a mem ber of the Student Senate and Singing Cadets. JASON EDGINGTON Civilian Chaplain and chaplain of the CSC, Jason is a member of the Interfaith Council and president of Mitchell Hall. One of the out standing juniors in geology last year, he is a petroleum and geological engineering major from San Angelo with a 1.5 GPR. CHRISTIAN A. GALINDO This Good Neighbor and Standard Oil of Texas Scholarship winner is a petroleum engineering major from Cochabomba, Boliva. Who’s Who has often been called the biggest honor a stu dent of a college can receive while an undergraduate or grad- %ai uate. A&M’s quota for the selection was two more or less than 36. The winners were chosen by corps and civilian screening com mittees, a general selection com mittee and then approved by col lege and national contest offi cials. IP - "Lj THAD CROOKS Holder of a school record for the 880 and mile run, Thad is captain of the track and cross-country teams. A member of the “T” Asso ciation, he was voted most valuable track man in 1961. The business major from Hooks has a 1.8 GPR, and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma. ma » . : 0- GEORGE CRAWFORD An electrical engineering major from Overton, George is secretary of Eta Kappa Nu, and member of AIEE and Phi Eta Sigma. Vice president of Senior Court ‘A’, and member of Second Wing Staff, he is a distinguished Air Force ROTC cadet. GARY ANDERSON An Opportunity Award scholar ship winner with a 2.2 GPR, Gary is Deputy Corps Commander, a Ross Volunteer and distinguished military student. The Corpus Christi marketing major is also senior class student entertainment manager. JAMES CARDWELL Corps Commander, 805th Air Divi sion Commander, and distinguished Air Force ROTC cadet, Bill has made a name for himself in the A&M Corns of Cadets. With a 1.5 GPR the Luling economics major is also secretary of Phi Eta Sigma and a member of Phi Kappa Phi. FRANCISCO GARZA Member of Tau Beta Pi, Alpha Pi Mu and Phi Eta Sigma, Francisco is a Good Neighbor Scholarship winner from Monterrey, Mexico. An industrial engineering major, he has a 2.3 GPR. He is also a member of the Student Chamber of Commerce. TERRY GOSSETT Editor of The Engineer and Corps Adjutant, Terry is a distinguished Air Force ROTC cadet and has a 1.9 GPR in his electrical engineer ing major. From Silsbee, he is a member of AIEE and Eta Kappa Nu. He is a Cooper Bessemer Scholarship winner. JOE WOOD LINDLEY Student Senate chaplain, Joe is a junior in the School of Veterinary Medicine, from Plainview. He is a member of the AVMA, Walton Hall Council and Ringing Cadets. Last year he was Fourth Battle Group chaplain and a DMS. He has a 1.8 GPR. if i ' ^ a! President of Phi Eta Sigma, vice president of Eta Kappa Nu and member of Tau Beta Pi, he has a 2.0 GPR. He is president of Cadet Court ‘B’ and a DMS. Dorris, Melcher, Don Myers and Bob Hughes made up the civilian screening subcommittee. On the Corps screening sub committee, headed by Wentworth, were Charles L. Cochran, 1st Bat- tlegroup; Kent G. Ellis, 2nd Bat- tlegroup; Charles W. Moore Jr., 3rd Battlegroup; Dan Griffith, 4th Battlegroup; Charles E. Warlick, 5th Battlegroup; Calvin M. Caraway III, 6th Battlegroup; John R. Nicholson, 1st Group; Robert C. Ramsower, 2nd Group; Jack Klug, 3rd Group; James P. Myers, 4th Group; and Patrick K. Crouch, Consolidated Band. Requirements were a 1.5 over all grade point ratio, completion of 95 semester hours, graduation before June, 1963, and no prior application for Who’s Who. Also considered by the screen ing groups were participation in campus activities, indications of leadership shown by offices held, popularity with fellow students, citizenship and character. JAN AHART From Houston, Jan is C.O. of the First Battle Group, Ross Volunteer and a distinguished military stu dent. With a 1.7 GPR, he is pres ident of the Accounting Society and a committee chairman for the 1961 Accounting Conference. MALCOLM HALL Besides being president of the Stu dent Senate, Malcolm heads the Arts and Sciences Council and A&M’s SWC sportsmanship com mittee.
