Following the drill team se quences there will be an individ ual manuel of arms competition between the top five cadets from Sam Houston’s ROTC Corps ,and five Aggies who will represent A&M. The individual manual of arms contest will be open to all classi fications and will act as a com petition between corps. Trophies will be awarded to the first place drill team and to the winner of the manual of arms contest. Other individual awards will include a plaque to be given to the second place cadet in the individual competition and medals for the three runners-up. . Both the drill team competition and the manual of arms contest will be judged by a team of offi cers from Allen Military Academy in Bryan. Reeves of the De partment of Genetics and his wife will give an illustrated talk to morrow on “Social and Economic Development in Modern Egypt.” The program, to be snonsored by the Arab Student Chib, is scheduled for 7:30 n.m. in the Social Room of the Memorial Stu dent Center. Reeves was on leave from A&M last year and served as a visiting Eulbright Professor at the Alex andria University in Alexandria, Egvpt. Dr. Leslie V. Hawkins, of the Department of Industrial Educa tion will exhibit part of his pri vate collection of early colonial tools in the MSC Feb. 28-Mar. 2. Approximately 100 early saws, planes, drills, bits and other colon ial woodworking tools will be dis played. Howard L. Morton, Robert E. Meyer and Robert A. Darrow of the School of Agriculture are part icipating in the Weed Society of America’s national meeting now under way in St. Louis, Mo. The group is concerned with per sonnel interested in use of chemi cal for weed and plant control in agriculture and industry. Dr. Jack A. Dabbs, of the De partment of Modern Languages, will leave Christmas day for Chi cago to attend the annual meet ing of the Modern Language. As sociation of America. Dr. Dwain Estes of the Depart ment of Education and Psychology is leaving A&M at the close of this semester to join the Univer sity of Alabama faculty. His post will be filled by Pat Sullivan, now doing graduate work at the University of Texas. Sulli van, married with two children, earned BA and MEd degrees at Texas Tech. Charles A. Rodenberger, ass«^ci- ate professor in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering is at tending a short course on “Materi als Under Thermal Stress” at Pennsylvania State University. The course is being presented by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
