The class netted over $35. Decorations were streamers of red and white crepe paper and couples entered the dance through a large red heart. The refresh ment table was also done in the traditional colors and featured a bridal doll in a miniature heart. Punch, sandwiches, and cake were served. During the evening, pic tures were made in the heart en trance and proceeds were divided between the photography club and the junior class. —o— The annual FHA Sweetheart ban quet has been scheduled for Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. in Maggie Parker’s dining hall. About 110 persons are expected to attend, including chapter members and their dates, club mothers, and teachers. To morrow is the final day to make reservations for the banquet at $1.75 per plate. Highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the FHA Sweetheart for 1955. Master of ceremonies will be Miss Anna Beaty, chapter presi dent, Miss Bonnie Carroll will make the welcoming address, and Miss Marcia Smith will read the invoca tion. The program featui'es Mrs. F. E. McFarland, who will present a series of short skits with the theme “Thought of Love,” and Mrs. T. E. Ryan and R. L. Boone will sing duets. Following the program will be a dance. Closing out the seasons activ ities will be a dance sponsored by the Tiger band on Feb. 26. Dur ing the evening the band sweet- heart for this year will be announ ced. Every high school girl in the band is eligible for the honor. —o— The student council and photo graphy club will co-sponsor a com munity talent show on March 11. The show will be given in the new auditorium and proceeds will go toward the purchase of a new cam era and various student council projects. Mravti — Also — ‘‘SUSPICION” CARY GRANT Social Whirl Friday The Business Wives club will sponsor a game party at the YM CA at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be fifty cents for card games, scrab ble, and monoply. Prizes will be donated by the local merchants, and refreshments will be served. The A&M Garden club will meet at 2:30 p.m. in the MSC and have Dr. C. C. ETHYL CORP Mrs. Texas A&M Contest Underway By JO ANN COCANOUGHER Mrs. Texas A&M doesn’t have to be the best cook in College Station or Bryan, nor does she have to be the Marilyn Monroe of the A&M campus. In fact, she doesn’t even have to know how many stars are on the Texas flag. The only requirement that Mrs. Texas A&M must have is that she be a wife of a student Aggie. Married Aggie students are really responsible for. the entries in the contest, which ends at 3 p.m. Monday. A letter written in 150 words or less explaining “Why I think my wife should be chosen as Mrs. Texas A&M” and a snap shot of the entrant, with a return address enclosed, must be brought or sent to the main desk of the Me morial Student Center or The Bat talion office by the deadline date, in order to be in the running. The winner of the Mrs. Texas A&M contest will be announced at the Maroon and White Ball, a mar ried Aggie couples’ dance Feb. 19.
