Ag Wrestlers Meet Texas Here Friday Aggie wrestlers will meet the University of Texas at DeWare fieldhouse at 7:30 Friday night. There will be no admission chai*ge. It will be the first meet of the season for Coach Jim Griffith’s grapplers. Griffith, a member of the A&M physi cal education department, is the son of Art Griffith, veter an mat coach at Oklahoma A&M. The Oklahoma Aggies won the NCAA wrestling title last year. The elder Griffith was coach of the US Olympic team in the 1948 games at London. Grifith announced the fol lowing lineup for the Cadets: 123 pounds—A1 Clachar. 130 pounds—Don Burchard and Bob Beattie. 137—Kirby Meyer. 147—Dave Hogan. 157—Steve Scott. 167—Jerry Pyle. 177—Ken Jones. Heavyweight — Carl Hazle- wood. Five Ag Boxers Go To State Meet Five Aggie boxers w r ill go after titles at the state Golden Gloves meet in Fort Worth Feb. 16-21 after winning regional champion ships in Waco. A&M also won the team cham pionship in the open division. Light weight Jim Earle was named the outstanding boxer in the open class for the second straight year. Competing in Fort Worth will be Ken Duncan, bantamweight; Con nie Eckard, featherweight; Earle; D. L. Dischler, welterweight; and Jackie Fowler, light-heavyweight. Bill Goode won the novice mid dleweight title at Waco. Bryant Will Speak To Brazos Club Coach Paul (Bear) Bryant will speak on athletic progress at A&M 6:30 p. m. today at the Brazos county A&M club’s chili supper to be held at their clubhouse on Mur- nerlyn drive, said John Orr, sec retary.
