After losing the first set, A&M sophomore Nikki Mechem was down 5-3 in the second set. She came back and won the set 7-6, and then the tiebreaker, 10-7. Walker lost her first set of singles to Fisher, then won the second set and tiebreaker to win the match. “It was a hard-fought match,” said Rice head coach Roger White. “A&M played real tough, and we look forward to seeing them in the (NCAA) regional tournament.” The Aggies next take the court in Chapel Hill, N.C., when they take on the University of North Carolina next Saturday. Aggies Continued from page 6 Station, had a woeful home coming in a 6-0, 6-1 loss to A&M freshman Bryan Wooten. Capps said the strangest part during the match was seeing his parents in the stands. “It was real weird for me to see my parents rooting for me to win while wearing a lot of A&M clothing,” Capps said. Aggie fans responded to the pleasant weather, filling a good portion of the seats. It was also the first time since Jan. 19 that the Aggies had played outdoors. A&M senior Mohamed Dakki, who won 6-2, 6-0, said he was happy to get the chance to play outside in front of the crowd. “Playing inside or outside doesn’t matter that much, because we’re pretty good,” Dakki said. “But I certainly was pumped up to play at home and even more pumped up to play outside.” Cass said he hoped the crowd saw A&M’s talent on the court and left the stadium in good spirits. “What we wear on the front of our jersey means a lot to us,” Cass said. “We want our crowd to be proud of us.” Jump ball R ecent A&fv on N' was gay. provoked U of hate f Lear to be [(assist him le victim, p imcouraging tlion reprel dimon dec Those wii A&M junior guard Bobby Leach tries to steal Jason Detrick during the Sooners 78-72 win |P Beato III • THE attacks the ball from Oklahoma gm ^ Wn over the Aggies Saturday. ^^fsiurs^. $c For annual checkups, birth control, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing.
