The labor unrest has also increased pressure on the com pany’s board of directors to remove chairman and chief executive Donald J. Carty, ana lysts said. The board is sched uled to meet Thursday. American reported a $1.04 billion first quarter loss on Wednesday as executives nego tiated all day and into the night with labor leaders and four Texas congressmen to hammer out a deal and ward off Chapter 11. Workers and union leaders remain outraged after learning late last week that American had approved executive bonuses and pension payments that would be protected in bankruptcy; early last week the unions agreed to $1.8 billion in annual cuts. Now, two out of three key unions want to vote again on the concessions. “If it is left unresolved, there’s a pretty good chance the efs Co Out Wo Eat p--—- ——— rsdays in The Battalion ■ 1 111 1 M j Free Beignet Donut with purchase of coffee Open Monday - Saturday 8am - 7pm Closed Sunday (979) 694-9571 900 Harvey Road, Suite SB Across from The Tap at Woodstone I AG SPECIAL - Sandwich - Side - Drink $ 3.99 w® with coupon - Coffee - Fresh Fruit Smoothie - Bubble Tea 1/2 Price with coupon Coupons expire April 30, 2003 SSlD ~-*(SANDWlCH SHOPS>^" Sunday - Friday *5.50 Daily Special Weds. - Live Music: Songwriter Night (FREE) Thurs. - Acoustic jam (FREE) Mon - Thurs Cheesesteak Happy Hour 3-6 p.m. Order from daily special list - Groups of 3 or more get FREE chips and queso §t» J ., : BUY TWO SANDWICHES, \ * INDWICH SI10PS>^ J .
