(AP) — Gov. Jesse Ventura has been named his state's entrepreneur of the year. Minnesota Entrepreneurs Inc. said Tuesday that Ventura has taken entrepreneurship “to a higher level." The group’s president, Jerry Robin son, cited the governor’s use of Internet tech nology and his plans to market his name and im age. Licensed Ventura merchandise, including ing of the glass. Novak said an enormous amount of heat is re quired to make cut-glass pieces. “You have to keep a 2,000 degree furnace hot all the time,” Novak said. “Once the glass is melt ed, you try to produce something with it. You don’t just make one piece, you make in very large numbers.” He said cut-glass pieces exemplify the 19th century time period. “It’s fun to look at how thick these things are — it’s very 19th century,” Novak said. “The tech nology is amazing. You have to work really fast with the hot glass, but you cut slowly. They are very, very heavy pieces.” Novak said cut-glass pieces pass through the hands of several people during production and require many types of tools. “Stone wheels are used to cut glass,” Novak said. “They had a variety of wheels to make dif ferent sizes. With hot glass, they used jacks to shape, and they used blowpipes to reach in the furnace to gather glass. [The glass] is glowing, and it’s red hot.” Kasey Stahr, a junior elementary education major, visited the cut-glass exhibit and said she thought it was exceptional. “I’ve never seen anything like it before,” Stahr said. “Just looking at it, I thought it was really coffee mugs, T-shirts, hats, action figures and bumper stickers, are sold throughout the country. Cash returns to stage for all-star performance NEW YORK (AP) — Johnny Cash made it back on stage for the first time in more than a year and a half of illness. “It feels good, it feels good, it feels good,” Cash said Tuesday night, his voice clear and strong as he sang “Folsom Prison Blues.” TNT taped the all-star show, which featured Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, U2, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris and Wyclef Jean, for a special to air April 18. Cash’s appearance in Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom was unannounced. There was some question if he’d ever make it on stage again. Cash, 67, has Shy-Drager Syn drome, a rare neurological disorder that causes progressive damage to the nervous system. Each performer paid sartorial tribute to “The Man in Black” by dressing in the color. Near the show’s end, the lights dimmed and actor Tim Robbins read a Cash essay about life in prison. The lights rose to reveal the author on stage, breaking into song after his traditional in troduction: “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.” beautiful. After I learned a little bit more about the process it undergoes, I was really impressed. The artists must have put forth an amazing amount of time and effort. ” Hiking over the Summer?
