Filmed on-location in Los Angeles on Saturday, just days after Richards left office, the new Doritos Tortilla Chips ad finds Cuomo giving Richards advice about embracing change, the Plano, Texas- based subsidiary of PepsiCo Inc. said. But the change the voter- ousted politicians are talking about is the newly redesigned Doritos. The 30-second spot begins with Richards packing her of fice and saying she should have seen change coming. “Maybe so,” Cuomo says, “but now I think we ought to accept this change, embrace it, be positive about it, because change can be very exciting.” Richards agrees, adding: “I’ll get used to Doritos’ new bag.” The pair received “a lifetime supply of Doritos” and “were at least paid scale,” said company spokeswoman Lynn Mark ley. “My understanding is both governors are donating (the proceeds) to their charities,” she said. The ad ends with Cuomo ex pressing his regrets about the Dallas Cowboys losing a shot at the Super Bowl. “They always won when I was governor,” Richards said with a laugh. The spot is one of three new commercials Frito-Lay will de but Sunday beginning with the pre-game show. Cuomo and Richards also will be featured in the opening and closing bill boards of the half-time show. “ ... We’re hopeful that we’ve got a little bit of some thing for everybody, from star politicians and stand-out en tertainers to football greats,” Tod J. MacKenzie, Frito-Lay’s vice president of advertising, said in a written statement. In addition to the governors’ commercial, the chip company is also debuting a parachute spot featuring “Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander and “Frasier” pooch Eddie, and another ad titled “Clouds” featuring San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield and San Diego Chargers quarter back Stan Humphries. The company planned a news conference Thursday in Miami, site of the Super Bowl. Last year, former Vice Pres ident Dan Quayle did a Super Bowl ad for Frito-Lay that gently mocked his misspelling of “potato.” Source - A&M Chapter of the American Meteorological Society STAFFORD OPERA HOUSE ^ OOMKC K ■ .E J »-i < iE JE-* * J-i'*- CHRIS OCARXE KOCKLiriE, 1 "What's it like to k>e the greatest guitarist in the world?"
