To enlist student input during this process, three students have been assigned to the advisory council of the teaching excellence center. The student vice president for academic affairs, the president of the graduate student council and an undergraduate student chosen by the student body president will meet with the center and the master re source panels to give input about communication problems. Additionally, student ratings re ported at the end of every semester will be reviewed by the department head and discussed with professors. Any problems will be monitored throughout the semester until they are corrected. Although all students are invited to utilize this complaint process, not all complaints are invited. Gage says complaints concerning grading policies or difficulty of con tent are not complaints that should be submitted. The program is designed to deal with classroom communication problems, he said. Problems with grades should be channeled through the grades appeal process. Clevenger says the biggest task for Student Government is informing students they do have an input mechanism for complaints. “I encourage students to take ad vantage of the powerful tool they have been given,” he says. “The monkey is on our back. We now have an input mechanism and it is our re sponsibility to use it.” What’s Up Wednesday WOMEN’S BONFIRE COMMITTEE: will meet at 7 p.m. in 402 Rudder.
