Spring Break is still a long way off, and it seems like the only thing the College of Business is good for is too much homework- But wait—there really is something excit ing about to occur within the College of Business. Next week, Blocker will be transformed into Career Fair 1987 and company representa tives from all over will be making the trip to Texas A&M in the hopes of finding future Aggie employees. In this years Career Fair, which will be featured on the Macneil/Lehier News Hour, over 80 companies will be represented. So whether you’re about to graduate, looking for a sum mer internship, or just curious, now’s your chance! These opportunities include the chance to meet representatives of over 80 companies, and become bet ter informed of possible career oppor tunities. This annual event will take place in Blocker on February 1-4. Business Student Council sponsors Career Fair and relies on over 250 students serving on various commit tees. 'Hie convention-style booths lo cated in the first and second floor lob bies on Tuesday February 3 and Wednesday February 4 offer a conve nient way for students to drop by be tween classes and talk informally with company officials about career opportunites. Although companies’ interests are primarily focused on business students, a number of com panies are interested in talking with students of other majors, particularly liberal arts. The two days of booths in this year’s Fair are only one feature of the four day program. The RETAILING SYMPOSIUM is on Sunday, February 1 at the Hilton. This begins the 1987 Fair with a series of discussions re lated to careers in the fast-growing retail field. On Monday, February 2 the WOM EN’S BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM fea tures a group of highly successful leaders in the Dallas business com munity, known as the Executive Women of Dallas, in a series of class room discussions. The discussions ad dress the prfessional roles of men and women in today’s business world, as well as problems involving commu nications, discrimation, and equality of opportunity. A luncheon will be held at noon at the Hilton. Reserva tions are 810.75 and can be made by contacting the Office of the Dean, 845-4711. Throughout the Fair, several class room talks on INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS issues will be held. Check Monday’s Business Edge for further details concerning times. On Wednesday, the Fair will con clude with dynamic presentations by A&M’s business masters students in the annual MBA/MS CASE COMPE TITION. A highlight of the 1987 Career Fair is the awards presentation sponsored by the College of Business Adminis tration. This banquet will be held Tuesday, February 3 at die Hilton, and students demonstrating high aca demic achievement will be recog nized. ORGANIZATIONAL NEWS American Marketing Association Formerly the Texas A&M Market ing Society, the AMA offers the stu dent of marketing many exciting op portunities to enhance his/her overall exposure to the field. Retail Society The Retail Society has already had its first meeting of fhe semester and is finalizing plans for their spring trip to San Antonio.
