Seattle’s Ricky Sobers had tied the game at 111 on a layup with 17 sec onds left. The Spurs, who played without normal starters Johnny Moore and Steve Johnson, still had a chance to win in regulation but a late jumper by Mike Mitchell was no good. Gilmore took the first four points in overtime and the Spurs were never threatened after that. San Antonio, now 27-24, shot 61.3 percent from the field but com mitted 21 turnovers that led to 30 points for Seattle, which dropped to 17-32. The Spurs rode a 12-6 streak late in the first half to take a 61-51 lead at intermission as Gilmore scored 17 points and Mitchell added 14.
