Fleischer said this gives them plenty of time to reach the goal or to make adjustments. But Fleischer said he won’t be disgruntled if the goal isn’t reached because of the large in creases his organization has ex perienced in the past few years — 30 percent last year and 17 percent both years before that. The 1983 goal represented a 15 percent increase over 1982, which Fleischer said is still high er than the national average in crease of 10 percent. “Even though you don’t reach that magic figure there’s still a lot of positive things you have to look at,” he said. Williams said he thinks the whole local United Way organi zation is running exceptionally well. He said the board menils are virtually hand are invited to serve According to the organiza tion’s bylaws, any person who has contributed money during the present year or the year be fore is a voting member.
