Superior Court Judge Robert Knox issued a temporary in junction Wednesday preventing Dr. Mark Hopp, 68, from prac ticing medicine. (A hearing is scheduled April 29 on whether the injunction should be made permanent. The order follows an investi gation by the State Board of Medical Quality Assurance into Hopp’s storefront Huntington Beach clinic. Officials said the clinic ca tered to heroin addicts who were given massive quantities of pain killers and tranquilizers without having to see the doctor. “He wasn’t detoxifying them, he was maintaining them on drugs,” deputy district attorney Chris Kralick said.
