Pilot’s body found United Press International OXNARD, Calif. — Almost two years ago, a small plane pi loted by Jerry Lively crashed into the Pacific Ocean. The body of his passenger was recovered several hours later, but no trace of Lively was ever found. Officials said Monday, Live ly’s body — fully preserved and clothed — floated to the surface of the ocean during the weekend. A spokesman at the Ventura County Coroner’s office said the body probably had been protected by a cover ing of sand. An autopsy was conducted and the cause of death was listed as drowning. “He had a broken denture, probably from the impact of the plane hitting the water,” the spokesman said. “But he had no other injuries.” Lively, 35, and his passenger, Raymond Bouse, 32, both from Oxnard, went down in a Piper Colt Feb. 21, 1980, about 200 yards offshore in the Santa Bar bara Channel. Bouse’s body surfaced shortly after the accident. Lively’s body apparently was trapped in his plane following the crash and was dislodged either when the single-engine plane broke up, or because of wave and sand action caused by dredging in the channel. Workers on a dredging barge first noticed the body and alerted the Coast Guard. Dick' McKendry, a coroner’s investi gator, said Lively’s clothing and identification papers also were fully preserved.
