The seminars resulted from a desire of the RVs, who serve as the honor guard to the Texas gov ernor, to be of greater service to the University and the Corps. RV officers organized the seminars with help from Patricia Barber, student activities advisor. Subsequent seminars will be held Oct. 18 on communi cation and time management, Nov. 8 on stress management and academics, and in the spring, on Texas A&M University involve ment and opportunities. “The cadets’ reaction to the first seminar was extremely favor able,” Bob Marshall, RV comman der, said. “At first, when they found out they had to be cooped up from 5:30 to 10:00 on Sunday night, they weren’t very' optimis tic. But when they got there, they were very pleased and attentive. ” Hoby Reed, junior RV, said: “The seminar helped us get in sight into the feelings the adminis trators have and what they expect of us. “People recognize the fact that you’re an RV in the Corps, and they expect more of you. Our re sponsibility to the Corps is to rise to the expectations that people have of us.
