The application for the grant proposes a three-year health careers opportunity program be ginning in winter 1982 involving actual classroom and laboratory experiences for disadvantaged medical school applicants. The program will involve about 45 people, 15 each year for a three- year period. Students will attend classes, work in research laboratories and attend seminars which describe medicine and medical practices. “This will give the applicants the opportunity to interface with our current studentssaid Dr. William E. Ward, Texas A&M associate dean of medicine in charge of student afiairs.
