Elsewhere, Arkansas coach Lou Holtz said he did not plan any lineup changes because “it would be like rearranging deck chairs on the Tita nic,” and SMU coach Ron Meyer said he thought Texas and Baylor currently appeared to be the top two teams in the Southwest Conference. Elston, who had struggled along with the Cougars through the first three games of the season, injured his wrist during last Saturday night’s 24-20 victory over North Texas. “Everyone feels badly for Terry,” said Houston coach Bill Yeoman. “It’s a hard thing for him to go into his senior year and have the door slammed in his face.” Surgery will be performed today. That leaves the quarterbacking job up to Brent Chinn, a sophomore from Edna, Texas. Chinn has played in all three Houston games this year and led the Cougars to their first win last Saturday. “With Chinn, said Yeoman, “it’s just a matter of experience. I don’t worry about him. He’ll he fine.” Elston is best remembered for ral lying Houston to a win over Nebras ka in the Cotton Bowl last Jan. 1 with a pass to Eric Herring with 12 seconds to play. In College Station, Wilson said David Beal would start against the Red Raiders Saturday. T think David has earned the right to start,” said the Aggies coach. “But that is not to say that we have given up on Mike Mosley. We will have some other changes in the lineup that we will announce later. “I’d hate to give out some changes and then find out that the demoted players had worked their way hack to the starter’s roles by performing well in practice this week.
