When Bruce died in 1966, The Washington Post said in an editorial: “Lenny Bruce believed in free speech with a passion that was often masked by the jokes he told. He was a social satirist; one of the boldest and the best.” “Lenny Bruce — For Adults Only,” featuring William Weldon, will be presented at the Backstage Coffee House on June 28 and 29. The Texas Actors Theater is spon soring the show, which takes the form of a night club act and focuses on Bruce’s work, unlike the Broad way show and film Lenny which fo cused on his life. Weldon has arranged the shot from Bruce’s best ni; and his autobiography, Howtolal arter, accordt Dirty and Influence People.
