Page 10 THE BATTALION WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 1980 Jesus image seen on screen United Press International DELC AM BRE , La. — Thousands of people have gathered in the muddy backyard of Lois Lin den to gaze at her kitchen window screen that they say bears visions of Jesus and dead relatives. “I see Jesus on there/’ said Isabel Simmons, Linden’s mother. I see the cross, too. Some people see the crown of thorns and say he looks sad. ” Since Linden first reported seeing the vision of Christ in the screen on March 7, thousands of pilgrims. some packing sandwich lunches for day-long vigils, have stared at the rectangular, dusty screen in rain and sun. The crush has been so heavy that police have had to impose a 9 p.m. curfew. Some persons report seeing long- lost relatives and dead children, some strange numbers and writing. Jacqueline Pisani of New Iberia, La., said her brother showed her a photograph he had taken of the screen. “In the picture, it appears to be an image of our child (who died two years ago),” Pisani said Tuesday. “Some people think I’m crazy, but I see a little boy. I know that I saw it.” Pisani said she was skeptical at first of the sensational reports emanating from the Iberia-Vermilion Parish border town. But that’s when she made a first-hand visit. “When I looked I did see an image of Christ, ” she said. “It could be my imagination. But the fact that every one is seeing things makes me wonder.” Anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 people have visited the screen.
