We have to hit them first and then take our chances,’’ said the Oilers head coach as he prepared his team to take the first step Sunday. Houston travels to Cleveland and then finishes its regular season at home against Pittsburgh and Phi ladelphia. His team appeared healthy after three days off this weekend, but the possibility of a letdown with a playoff berth virtually in the bag worried Phillips. The Browns, 8-5, enter the game off a tough overtime loss to the Steel- ers Sunday. “I’m sure the loss took a lot out of them,’’ Oilers center Carl Mauck said. The Browns are backed against a wall, two games behind Central Di vision leaders Houston and Pitt sburgh, both 10-3. “I’d a heck of a lot rather have to go up there with them two games back than one game back,” Phillips said.
