During such conditions, the cavil Defense volunteers operate Texas A&M s radar on top of the Oceanog raphy and Meteorology lower to keep the public and Civil Defense authorities informed. Charles L. Brenton is in charge of Texas A&M’s weather station. The weather station, which is on the 12th floor, is at a good vantage point, Brenton said. He said that he can see 20 miles in all directions, which sometimes allows him to view weather systems forming. Brenton said that on rare occasions the Na tional Weather Service has called the station requesting additional radar information to pinpoint a weather formation.
