The “Heavyweight Award,” which goes to a senior who has been an outstanding student and active in promoting better communications at Texas A&M, went to two of this year’s graduates: Steven Reis of Bay City who worked for KAMU-TV (as host of “For Students Only”), The Battalion and the Texas Engineering Extension Service; and Christy Kelm Murphy of Hamilton who worked for The Battalion, the High School Com munications Workshop and the Department of Agricultural Communications. Ennis gets third in frisbee bout Robert Ennis of Houston placed third in the Men’s Divi sion of the First Intercollegiate Frisbee Championship, last Fri day at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Combined scores in distance and accuracy determined place of finish. This championship was the culmination of campus competi tion at 956 college and university recreation centers across the country. Ennis and 31 other finalists had won campus tour naments and then the regional level before coming to Evanston for the finals. of the Phi Kappa Phi scholastic honor society’s outstanding junior award at Texas A&M Uni versity last night. named regional winner of tl* • 1977 annual Reynolds Aluminiu Prize for Architectural Students Lacy, a physics major, re ceived the $500 award at the an nual initiation banquet of the Texas A&M chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. About 480 students and six faculty members were initiated at the program. The outstanding junior award winner was drawn from 10 candidates, all of whom wefe designated as the outstanding juniors in their academic colleges. Phi Kappa Phi chooses Lacy Robert A. Lacy of Lake Charles, La., was named winner Snyder receives Reynolds award Administered by the Ameri can Institute of Architects, prize is awarded for the creative use of aluminum in an architectural design. Usinj aluminum as a structural aesthetic element, Snyder signed a 440-square-foot triangle lar split level unit that accom modates four people. The com petition was established in to encourage creativity in chitectural design and to stimu late interest in the design tial of aluminum.
