Page 10 THE BATTALION WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23, 1976 Sport Shorts Walker By PAUL McGRATH Battalion Sports Editor Former Texas A&M halfback Skip Walker added a touchdown to the West cause as they whipped the East 35-17 in the 16th annual American Football Coaches All- American game. Walker scored on a three yard burst early in the first quarter, tying the game at that point at 7-7. The West outscored their Eastern counterparts 21-3 in the second half to run away with the contest. Unfortu nately, only the first four finishers were allowed to go on to the semis. • Mike Bruton, a former A&M linebacker-lineman who played for both Gene Stallings and Emory Bel- lard, has taken over as sports editor of a newspaper in Huntsville.
