(AP) — "Warren Trahan doesn’t put up with any bull, not even on Mondays when the scout attack team is trying to move the ball.” That’s Texas A&M defensive coordinator Melvin Robertson talk ing about the all-business attitude of his star senior defensive tackle, a 6-foot-3, 235-pounder from Duson, La. Trahan’s concentration and dedi cation in practice also pays off' on Saturdays. He sacked the quarter back four times, made seven solo tackles, and was credited with seven assists in a 20-10 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks. The performance earned him The Associated Press Southwest Con ference Defensive Player of the Week laurels. "Warren works as hard as any body I’ve ever seen, said Robert son, who also used to coach defense at the University of Houston. “He has no love for anybody including the scout team while he’s on that football lield. “He has a lot of quickness. Some big guys also will pace themselves—you know thinking they have it made. Well, there aren’t any halos on Warren’s head. He goes all out . . . all of the time.” Trahan was moved to defense from offense last year. Waldrep fund set for injured player A fund has been set up to help cover expenses incurred by the fam ily of TCU football player Kent Waldrep, who was critically injured in the game against the University of Alabama. Waldrep remains paralyzed from the neck down in a Birmingham, Ala., hospital from the second quarter injury that broke his neck and caused spinal damage. The fund was established in re sponse to many inquiries and pledges of donations for the junior player from Alvin, Tex. The dona tions will not go toward actual medi cal expenses, hut to help defray other expenses during Waldrep s period of hospitalization and re habilitation. Checks should he made accord ingly to “Kent Waldrep Fund” and mailed directly to the Kent Waldrep Fund, University Bank, P. O. Box 11280, Fort Worth, Texas 76109. Before that move Warren had been overweight and really hadn’t had much success, Robertson said. “He played a lot last year with a bad wrist—I really think it was broken. ” Robertson has some bad news for future Texas A&M opponents con cerning Trahan. “He can’t get anything hut better because he still doesn’t have a whole lot of experience,” Robertson said. “He wants to win real bad. He’s a senior and he wants to play pro hall. The pros like him a lot, I can tell you.” SWC quarterbacks don’t. Penn State will accept Cotton bid STATE COLLEGE, Pa.
