In football, Class A, League E, was decided last night in a game that got too rough, as most Corps games are. Lance Hawkins, Il’s lineman, fell into a teammate, knocking heads and causing Hawkins to go into convulsions. These championships mean a lot, but if the Corps guys don’t learn the rules perhaps other Cotton Bowl Op ens Ticket SalesThursday Ticket applications for the 1974 Cotton Bowl Classic will be accepted by mail only for a 13-day period beginning Thursday. The annual New Year’s Day game, played in Dallas’ Cotton Bowl, matches the Southwest Conference champion against a ranking major-college team. The public sale will run from Thursday (Oct. 25) through Tuesday, Nov. 6. Ticket requests should be mailed to the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association, Box 7185, Dallas, Texas 75209. Each order should include $8 per ticket, plus a 50-cent mailing fee per order. No more than ten tickets should be requested with each order—those wishing to order more than ten tickets should mail extra requests. After the public sale closes the only available tickets will be through the participating schools, which employ ticket priority lists. NCAA rules allow the guest team to be invited on Nov. 17 or the Saturday prior to its final game, whichever comes first. Cotton Bowl Athletic Associ ation president Field Scovell said eight teams are currently being considered as prime candidates to oppose the SWC champ. They are Alabama, Houston, LSU, Mis souri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State and Tennessee. Texas has been the host team a record five straight years, last New Year’s Day defeating Ala j bama, 17-13, on a controversial 34-yard run by Alan Lowry with just over three minutes to play. The victory gave Texas No. 3 ranking for the 1972 season. Ralph bought a 6-pak of Budweiser® and invited four friends over to share it. Since he bought, he expected to have two cans to himself, but unfortunately when he returned to the refrigerator for his second, he found it missing. So he asked who took it. A1 said,“Joe drank it.” Joe said,“Dan drank it.” Dan said, “Joe, that’s a lie!” And Bill said, “I didn’t drink it.” If only one of these statements is true, who really drank it? es •SuinS-tB ssa[ pue Sui^uup auijT aaoui ^uads aAnq pinoa ‘s^nd-g aAi; ^qgnoq peq qdje^j jj qeaoj^ ‘anxj aq pjnoM ^uauiaja^s s 4 uuq A/wo uaqj aouis ‘aaqa^us ®png aq^ si qig AlsnoiAqo ‘anjT aJB STuauia^s sjjiq pue s 4 aof uaqj ‘ji pip ubq quiq^ noA ji puy •an.q aae sjuaiuajeTS s 4 ubq puc sqy uaqj ‘aop sji quiqj noA jj •an.iq ajB squauiarB^s s^pg pus s^bq ‘auo AqmS aqj si jy aumssB noA jj :H3MSNV ANHEUSER-BUSCH. Teaff Says Ags Awesome Baylor Coach Grant Teaff, who personally scouted the Texas Ag gies last Saturday against Texas Christian, said Monday the Cadets “are awesome because they can beat you so many ways.” Teaff said that the way the Aggies moved the ball against TCU was very impressive. “They can attack you so many ways . . . they have a very strong running game . . . they have come up with a quarterback who not only can throw but is mechanically sound,” Teaff said. He added “They have excellent receivers. I think they have put it all together now and they are going to be one tough football team for us to beat Saturday.” Teaff said Baylor should be in the best physical condition in weeks.
