Indicted on misdemeanor charges of altering official aca demic records, as covered under article 429 of the Texas Educa tion Code, were Woolley, Lynn Nix, former Ball High assistant principal, and Richard Streiff, former Ball High principal. Oklahoma revealed the altera tions and forfeited eight of its football victories last season in cluding its Sugar Bowl victory over Penn State. Halfback Tommy Landry re turned after being sidelined with a pulled hamstring, but he took no part in contact work. Baylor The Baylor Bears closed out preparations Wednesday for their Saturday night opener against the University of Oklahoma with a spirited workout despite the heat and humidity. Coach Grant Teaff said that it appeared that the Bruins were ready. “It was terribly hot out there but we got total effort and made very few mental mistakes. I think we are about to reach that peak.” Defensive tackle Coy Zunker was the only missing player. The San Antonio senior letterman has been sidelined with a strep throat but is expected to be ready by Saturday night. TCU’s offense this fall will fea ture a threat barely used the past two years — the forward pass. The Horned Frogs have aban doned the Wishbone for the Slot I formation and that means a more wide open attack. The change has been very evi dent in scrimmages to date. Quar terback Kent Marshall of Austin has completed 23 of 31 passes for 382 yards. His backups, sopho more Lee Cook of Jacksboro and senior Perry Senn of Richard son, also have been putting the ball in the air often. “We are going to pass,” said TCU offensive coordinator Rus sell Coffee. “We’re not spending all that time working on throw ing the ball just for the heck of it.” A flu epidemic sent team members to the infirmary for shots as several players missed practice with illness.
