Emphasis On Plant Fires At School Emphasis will be placed on in dustrial fire prevention at the 11th annual Industrial Fire Pro tection School conducted by the Texas Firemen’s Training School. The emphasis on industrial problems is reflected in the rapid growth of attendance at the in dustrial school. Total attendance at the first session was 69, and school officials are predicting 1,000-plus for this year’s session. Set for July 29, the six-day school will be divided into three basic sections. One course is pri marily for the industrial repre sentative attending the training school for the first time. This section is also designed for fire fighters, men assigned: to fire brigades and operational person nel. A second course is designed for trainees who have attended pre vious fire schools at TAMU. Also included in prospective students are fire brigade chiefs, super visors, safety directors and per sonnel in technical and manage ment positions. The remaining course is de signed for senior safety inspec tors, safety directors and person nel in technical and management positions. Practical field evaluations will be included in the training pro gram. The field classes will be on a rotation basis. An effort will be made, according to school di rectors, to regulate the number of students in each group, to pro vide more individual instruction and to allow each student the opportunity to participate in the operation. The conference will be high lighted by the annual Industrial Banquet, set for August 2 at the Ramada Inn in College Station.
