Mark Jackson Jr. will Wheelmen observe anniversary The AAM Wheelmen, an or ganisation of bicycle enthusiasts, will soon observe its first anni versary. The club was formed last Oct. 14 by a group of AAM students to demonstrate how bikes can be healthy, pleasurable, non-poliut- »ag and practical vehicles for community transportation. Wheelmen President Carl Cus ter mid the organisation meets on the second and last Tuesdays ef each month. The sessions in- oohrs maintenance dinks, safety discussions, bicycling movies and ether topics. He said the dub also has a cW—bla library of books on the subject of cycling. Activities sponsored by the Wheelmen include an annual 100- miie -Century Ride,- weekly pleasure excursions of 10 to 60 •lies, time trial* t«: measure and improve techniques, and a yearly benefit marathon for a local char ity. Race-minded members have represented the dub in competi tion in Austin and Dallas. Dr. Ellett said the non-profit associations have scheduled pres entations on breeding problems of dogs and eats, pet nutrition and research needs in small ani- nml Areas. T.A.C.A. and C.A.R.E. are new state-wide organisations started in an effort to assist individuals and clubs interested in compan ion pets.
