The Aggies came back with some good passing, and, 15 min utes into the half, John Gunn kicked a penalty goal for three points. A&M took the halftime lead when Butch Preston, the captain, pulled off a dummy pass which fooled the Austin side. Preston was stopped two yards from the line, but Don Robertson, who was coming up hard in sup port, took the inside pass to score a well-deserved try. Gunn kicked the conversion. Austin kicked a penalty goal at the beginning of the second half to tie the score. The Aggies came close to scoring several times, but frantic tackles stifled the at tempts. A questionable call may have cost the Aggies the title, when Bruce Mills was stopped from putting the ball down in Austin’s end zone. Instead of a scrum five yards out, the referee called a 25 yard drop out. Since A&M was forming a scrum and thus off balance for the referee’s call, Austin quickly took the kick and chased it into the Aggie end zone to take the lead, 15-9. On a pentalty 25 yards out, Giles Fort sped around the Austin defense to touch down. Gunn’s NOW OPEN! ADULT LIBRARY CLUB 333 University Drive ADULT ART MOVIES Open 7 Days A Week 3 p. m. In the closing minutes, A&M was penalized 20 yards from its goal, and Austin capitalized by making the kick to give them the 18-15 margin. Gunn accounted for 33 points in the two-day affair, leading the fine performance of the Rugby Club.
