with the semifinals and the finals.
Both Aggie teams were in the
semifinals, with the White team
losing to the Austin Gold and the
Maroon team beating the Austin
Black.
In early games, the Maroons
defeated Fort Sill, 47-0, and Dal
las, 16-0. The White team won
over St. Edward’s, 8-3, and the
Harlequins, 20-7.
The Maroons subdued the Aus
tin Black, 13-4, while the White
team fell to the Austin Gold, 36-

game.
In the first five minutes of the
hard-hitting, fast-moving battle,

three quarter movement to over
lap the Aggie line with beautiful
running to produce a try (four
points) which was converted to
make the score 6-0.
The Aggies came back with
some good passing, and, 15 min
utes into the half, John Gunn
kicked a penalty goal for three
points. A&M took the halftime
lead when Butch Preston, the
captain, pulled off a dummy pass
which fooled the Austin side.
Preston was stopped two yards
from the line, but Don Robertson,
who was coming up hard in sup
port, took the inside pass to score
a well-deserved try. Gunn kicked
the conversion.
Austin kicked a penalty goal at
the beginning of the second half
to tie the score. The Aggies came
close to scoring several times,
but frantic tackles stifled the at
tempts.
A questionable call may have
cost the Aggies the title, when
Bruce Mills was stopped from
putting the ball down in Austin’s
end zone. Instead of a scrum five
yards out, the referee called a 25
yard drop out. Since A&M was
forming a scrum and thus off
balance for the referee’s call,
Austin quickly took the kick and
chased it into the Aggie end zone
to take the lead, 15-9.
On a pentalty 25 yards out,
Giles Fort sped around the Austin
defense to touch down. Gunn’s

conversion tied the game again.
The Aggies dominated the re
mainder of the game, but two
trips across the Austin line were
nullified because of lack of con
trol of the ball. In the closing
minutes, A&M was penalized 20
yards from its goal, and Austin
capitalized by making the kick
to give them the 18-15 margin.
Gunn accounted for 33 points
in the two-day affair, leading the
fine performance of the Rugby
Club.

A&M Maroon squad will host San

to semifinals
BOSTON <A>) _ The Boston
Bruins advanced to the Stanley
Cup semifinals by wrapping up
their series with Toronto with a
3-2 victory over the Maple Leafs
Tuesday night on Ken Hodge’s
goal at 7:38 of the third period.
The stubborn Leafs pulled into
a 2-2 tie with less than 14 minutes
remaining on veteran Norm Ull-
man’s goal at 6:09 of the final
period. But the Bruins bounced
right back to take the best-of-
seven series 4-1.
Linemates Phil Esposito and
Wayne Cashman set up Hodge,
who beat Toronto goalie Bernie
Parent with a 10-foot drive.
Hodge also got the winning goal
in the fourth game at Toronto
Sunday night.
The Bruins, who will meet the
winner of the Minnesota-St. Louis
quarter-final series, spotted To
ronto one goal midway through
the opening period as defense-
man Jim McKenny took a pass
from Dave Keon and scored on
a power play.
The Bruins tied the score 4>/z
minutes later as Fred Stanfield
hit an open comer for his third
goal of the series.
John McKenzie put Boston
ahead with the only goal of the
middle session.

WHAT TO DO WITH COLOR CUBES
M ix all five designer colors for a very modern setting, or select
one, two, or three-color cube combinations; blue and green for a
bedroom, yellow and green, a sewing room, or yellow, orange and
blue, a child’s playroom...
Use your Color Cubes to construct a two-sided room divider;
simply alternate the open cubes in both directions.
Cubes can be wall-mounted for a "floating bookcase” over beds
and desks.. .An open-top cube is a wastepaper basket, a firewood
bin, a toy box, a planter. An open-side cube is a telephone stand,
an aquarium container, a bookcase, a record rack.. .Color Cubes
can be turned over to form mini-tables; when topped with a
cushion pad, the square cube becomes a stool, the rectangular
cube, a window seat or bench ...
Make a game table by mounting a
checker board on top. Or add a piece
of cork and use as a cocktail table
for hot and cold drinks...Upright
15"x30" cubes can support glass or
wooden slabs for a dining table
design; when the same cubes are
used horizontally, this becomes a
coffee table... Even after years of
wear, you can refinish Color Cubes
for a whole new look. Cubes can be
