A tenative date has been set for an MSC Directorate Christ mas Party. The party will be held off-campus with a good band scheduled. Come with a date—or arrangements may be made for the “Single, female-type” to come as guests. If you plan to attend, please report to your committee chairman or David Wilks in the Student Affairs Office at MSC. the Simon & Garfunkel and Hollies will be presented as a Town Hall Extra Nov. 22, 9:15, after the bonfire. Tickets may be purchased from 9:00 to 5:30 at Student Programs Office. A sell out is expected. ★ ★ ★ “I know that rank has its p r ivileges but it seems unfair that us freshmen can’t work on th’ bonfire too during the week.” All MSC committees will be in- r terested to know about KORA radio advertising. A full outline of information can be obtained through the Student Affairs of fice or a direct interview with a radio announcer can be scheduled. We urge full usage of this. The parade in downtown Houston will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the kick off time in Rice Stadium sched uled at 2 p.m. Uniform for the trip as announced by Corps Com mander Lonnie C. Minze is Class “A” winter. IlllZ ★ ★ ★ The girls from Sacred Heart Dominican College i n Houston have invited all Aggies to attend their street dance Friday from 8-12 p.m. Admission to this gala affair is $1.75 a couple. Refresh ments will be free, which means only Cokes will be available. ★ ★ ★ Usually the week-end before the Turkey Day game was a “free” week-end and thus allowed the Corps and gung-ho civilians to work on the bonfire. However, the scheduling of the Rice game this year caused Head Yell Lead er Neal Adams to begin work on the tree structure this past week end. Civilian students will be guard ing the center pole while the Corps is in Houston. The Corps will return Saturday night in or der that work can be continued early Sunday morning. ★ ★ ★ “We’ve Never Been Licked,” the film which depicts the Corps of Cadets in the early 1940’s will be shown Tuesday night Nov. 21, in Guion Hall. Tickets at the door are 50 cents. All proceeds will go to the Memorial Student Center Travel Committee Overseas Scho larship-Loan Fund. Chairman of the committee is Davis Mayes, a junior in Company E-2. ★ ★ ★ The next night, after the light ing of the bonfire, Town Hall will provide the evening’s activity. Si mon and GarfUnkle, the number one singing group for American colleges and universities will headline. Featured also on the program will be one of England’s leading singing groups, the Hol lies. The show will begin at 9:15 and last until midnight. A com plete sell-out of G. Rollie White’s 8,000 seats is expected. ★ ★ ★ All Aggies are reminded to drive carefully to Houston. A&M has experienced five Silver Taps ceremonies since September, which must be a record number for a whole year. Help prevent a 10:30 ceremony on Monday, Nov. 20. C. — The American Institute of Architects announced that a Texas A&M student is the recipient of a scho larship for the 1967-68 academic year. James Robert Foster received a $400 Desco International As sociation Scholarship for contin ued study at the Texas A&M School of Architecture. The Desco International Association grant is one of four given annually by the franchised applicators of Desco coatings through The American Institutes of Architects. The recipient was selected by AIA’s Committee on Scholarships, headed by Elliot L. Whitaker, YMCA Plans Hootenanny The YMCA will be the scene of a Hootenanny at 6 p.m. today starring five girls from T. W. U. The Tessies that are making the trip down will be Kathy Heldman, “Aggie Sweetheart” ’67-’68, Cheri Holland, Aggie Sweetheart '65- ’66, Marti Silver, Zenda Higgins and Marsha Yarberry. Cheri Hol land, who is handling the T. W. U. end of the program, said that the girls are looking forward to their visit and have prepared an inter esting program. Everyone is in vited to the meeting on the 2nd floor of the YMCA.
