Schwartz, state Selective Service director, urged these students to request their college or university regis trars to send their class standings for the 1966-67 school year to their local boards as soon as these standings are available after the spring semester ends. “If these class standings are not sent in for the 1966-67 school year, it is likely that a lot of these students will get reclassified into Class I-A next fall just because their draft boards don’t have this information,” the state draft director said. “Some colleges and universities will report these class standings without requests from the stu dents,” he continued, “but others will do it only when the student asks that it be done.” Because class standings were not sent in on many college stu dents in Class II-S during the summer of 1966 for the 1965-66 school year, approximately a third of them in Texas was reclassified into Class I-A. Class standings are not report ed on graduate students and stu dents of professions such as medi cine, dentistry, and law. Commanders (Continued From Page 1) 'Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Alice.
