The conference is jointly spon sored by Texas A&M and all ac counting societies in Texas. “The main objective of this con ference is to spotlight the profes sional developments, trends, and problems in accounting and fin ancial matters that are signifi cant to the successful manage ment of any business,” said Dr. Jack W. Coleman, head of the Accounting Department. Among the speakers at the con ference will be Leon Keyserling, chairman of the Council of Eco nomic Advisers during President T r u m a n’s Administration, An drew Barr, of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and Charles N. Shepardson, on the Board of Governors of the Fed eral Reserve System. Also speaking at the confer ence will be Dr. David I. Cleland of the United States Air Force, Dr. Lawrence I. Vance of the Uni versity of California and Dr. S. Allen Self of Texas Christian University. The conference will begin Sun day at 11 a.m. with a Conference Golf Tournament at the Texas A&M Golf Course. Registration will be from 3-6 p.m. in the lobby of the Ramada Inn. The Ramada Inn will host a social hour for the registrants from 6:30-7:30 with a buffett beginning at 7:30. Carl M. Blumenschein, senior vice-president of the Finance, Container Corporation of Ameri ca, will give the first speech of the conference Monday at 9 a.m. Blumenschein will speak on “Cor porate Financial Management — A Look Into the Future.” Dr. Vance will speak on “A Re view and Analysis of the New American Accounting Associa tion’s Statement of Basic Ac counting Theory” at 10 a.m. while Barr will speak on “Trends and Future Requirements for Corpor ate Financial Reporting” at 1 p.m. “The Corporate Financial Re porting Trends as Viewed by Cor porate Management and Practi tioners” will be reviewed by Frank T. Weston of Arthur Young and Company at 2 p.m. with Shepardson speaking on “The Role of the Federal Reserve in Monetary Policy” at 3:30. A banquet will begin at 6:30 with Keyserling speaking on “Evaluating the New Economics.” Dr. Self will lead off the confer ence Tuesday by speaking on “The New Managerial Economics” at 8:30 a.m. while Dr. Cleland will speak on “Project Manage ment — A New Approach to Management” at 9:16 a.m. All sessions of the conference will be at the Ramada Inn in College Station. Fish Conferences Being Scheduled Summer conferences for new Texas A&M freshmen in 1967-68 will be held on 15 two-day dates June 12 through Aug. 18, an nounced Registrar H. L. Heaton. Conferences help bridge the gap between high school and college, allowing new students to take required tests, be assigned to a dormitory room, reserve uniforms (for Cadet Corps members) pur chase books, confer with his aca demic dean and orient on college life. Conference dates include June 12-13, 15-16, 19-20, 22-23, 26-27, 29-30, July 6-7, 10-11, July 31- Aug. 1, Aug. 3-4, 7-8, 10-11, 14-15 and 17-18. Students applying for enroll ment request two separate date preferences, to enable university officials to fit his schedule should the 125-student quota for his first selection be filled.
