BOOK PRESENTATION Meteorology professor John F. Griffiths presents a copy of a book he authored to Texas A&M President Earl Rud der. “Applied Climatology” is a general treatise published by Oxford University Press, London. Prof Authors Second Book Meteorologist John F. Griffiths of Texas A&M has his second book in as many years rolling off Oxford University presses in England. “Applied Climatology” is an 80,000-word volume of introduc tory nature. Griffiths expects it to fill needs of high school, col lege students and laymen inter ested in how climate affects en vironment. “This is the first book dealing specifically with the subject in the English language,” noted the Meteorology Department associ ate professor. He said there is growing interest in environment al sciences. The general treatise devotes chapters to climate and humans, animals, agriculture, forestry and buildings, to name a few. Jamaica will be host to the Eighth Bristish Empire and Com monwealth Games in August.
