With the Cadet cagers playing so many road games early in the season, Norman was relatively un known to fans until the Aggies played Texas in Austin. Ken came off the bench in the second half to score two crucial buckets that enabled the Maroon to beat the Steers 65-60 for their first win in Austin since 1959. Norman, 6-6, 195, played his high school ball at Dallas Samuell and had offers from several SWC schools but chose Lon Morris. “Lon Morris plays more games and their coach (Leon Black) used to work out with our high school team,” Norman explained. His apprenticeship served him well and now Ken is supplying the needed depth for A&M’s champion ship drive.
