Required Physical Education Tests Completed Wednesday Required physical education tests for students enrolled in re quired physical education . were completed yesterday, Herman B. Segrest, head of the Department of Required Physical Education said today. The “Aggie” test, familiar to many freshmen, consists of three basic items, overhand pull-ups, sit-ups, and a 30-yd. shuttle run, Segrest explained. Norms will be established as soon as the results are tabulated. Any student falling below avei'- age in two or more of the require ments will be recommended to take a conditioning course in the Spring. Students in required physical education were given a sheet with 25 basic conditioning exercises at the start of the semester so they could get in shape before the test, said Segrest. Timm Dr. Tyrus Timm, head of the Department of Agricultui’al Eco nomics and Sociology, has been re appointed to the advisory council of the Agricultural Commission of the American Bankers Assn. for. 1960. Making the appointment was John W. Remington, association president and also president of the Lincoln Rochester Trust Co. at Rochester, N. Y. The American Bankers Assn. Ag ricultural Commission is composed Ag Extension Hosts Visiting Delegates Here The Texas Agricultural Exten sion Service hosted to co-operative extension service delegates who visited here Dec. 3-10 in connection with a project in public affairs and leadership development for public responsibilities. Larry L. Burleson/ oi’ganization specialist with the Texas Extension Service, said the project is jointly sponsored by the Fund for Adult Education and the co-operative ex tension services of Texas, Arizona, Ilinois, Michigan, Montana and Pennsylvania. In each of the six states, two counties have been designated as pilot counties, he said. Extension agents, known as “Program Con sultants”, have been asigned to the counties to conduct the pro gram. Kaufman and San Patricio are the pilot counties in Texas and the program consultants are O. B. Clifton and Dr. Edward F. Schlutt, respectively. Burleson is Texas program leader. While in Texas, the 12 program consultants, along with the na tional co-ordinator, Dr. Frank Sug- gitt, and the national program con sultant, Dr. Joseph L. Purpose of the commission is to study important trends, prob lems .and opportunities in the field of farm and ranch credit and to assist the 15,000 commercial banks in improving their services to the agricultural industry. The advisory council meets with commission members about twice a year and is called upon for ad vice about credit policies and pro cedures. In addition to Timm, the other members will be Dr. Van B. Hart, Cornell University; Dr. O. B. Jess- ness, University of Minnesota; Dr. Aubrey Brown, University of Ken tucky; and Dr. G. B. Wood of Oregon State College.
