With Tuesday night’s 7-5 victory over Burton the Farmers now boast a 19-7 record for the seaso which ties the third highest mark set in 1942. W oK^ t Now all the Cadets have to do is win tonight’s game with Burton and win both of their tilts with Arizona and they have a new rec ord, beating the old one set in 1951 of 21 wins and 11 losses. Not bad for a coach in his first year of Southwest Conference play and a team that finished fifth last year and is composed largely of sophomores. Catcher Gary Herrington led the Farmers at the plate with a 7361 average, based on a 25 times at bat average. The senior co captain had four doubles and a homer while he struck out only once. The stubby Ag was ranked 1 fifth in individual conference bat ting statistics. The lanky red head from Corpus Christ!, Clifford (Stuffy) Davis, grabbed runnerup honors in the hatting department with a .333 conference average. Davis, just missed the honor of having a homer entered in the record books when he slammed one over the left field fence against Texas and then forgot to touch first when trotting around the bases. Army golf coach Walter Browne is the youngest of four brothers. All are golf professionals. DR. M. W.
