Aggie rightfielder Jim Smother- man, who started the season as a top hitter then dropped to a below average .184, looked like he may be back to his old form again, ac cording to Bell. Along with Smotherman, Bell is looking for heavy hitters in Bo Paradowski and Gary Herrington. Pai'adowski started the season as a pitcher and then moved to first baseman. In the last two games he hit .500. Herrington has hit at a steady pace all season and goes in today’s game with a .324 batting average. Battery mate for Herrington in today’s tilt is junior righthander Wayne Sehaper. The lanky hurler pitched his first conference game last Saturday when he beat SMU 4-0, moving the Farmers into a tie for second place in the con ference race. The Aggies will face TCU again tomorrow with Toby Newton on the mound. The senior lefthander pitched against Texas Tech Tues day, striking out 17 batters in seven innings. Seventeen days remain in the season and the Cadets still have to face the top of the conference batting roster, Texas, TCU and Rice, and beat them to cop the pennant. On paper, the Farmers look like they might go down swinging. The Ags don’t have a man in the top ten in the batting statistics, and only catcher Gary Herrington in the top twenty.
