I,' i 4 The Battalion College Station (Brazos County), Texas December 19, 1957 PAGE 7 Ail Open Letter To Aggie Wives Jokes about women drivers are countless. But when you get right down to it, your conduct behind the wheel of an automobile is no joking matter. It can mean the difference between a joyful holiday with family and friends . . . and years of regret and self-reproach. One moment of thoughtlessness is all it takes to shatter your life and the lives of your loved ones. But you’ve heard this all before, a thousand times. What more is there to say ? Only this. . . use your head, yes, but use your heart too. Try for a moment feeling the torment you may bring your self and others by one careless act. Imagine what it would be like to lose your child or your husband. Put yourself in the place of the careless or reckless driver who can never forgive himself. . . or forget. If you’ll be doing some of the driving home this weekend, keep in mind—and in heart—that this can be a Christmas to remember with joy or with sorrow, depending on you. Write a happy ending to 1957. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 40 minutes. Set pan on damp kitchen towel when you take it from the oven, and the kisses will come off easily. Another method of baking is to line a cookie sheet with brown paper; drop the kisses in teaspoonfuls on the paper, bake, then remove from the oven and set on a damp cloth to loosen them from the paper. These kisses are convenient to have on hand, are unusual to look at, and are still better to eat.
