(cured) 1 egg, beaten % pound fresh pork 1 cup cream or (ground, not too fat) unsweetened canned % teaspoon black pepper milk Mix well all ingredient^ and shape into loaf pan. Bake about 40 minutes at 375 degrees. Spread with topping of % cup brown sugar, 'A teaspoon dry mustard, 2 tablespoons vinegar, and % cup crushed pine apple, mixed together. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve wai’m or cold. DUTCH BEANS 1 large can string beans 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 large onion, chopped 2 tablespoons vinegar 3 slices bacon 1 teaspoon mustard Fresh or frozen beans, cooked, may be used. Cook bacon in skillet. Remove from skillet and add onion to fat and brown slightly. Add other ingredients and cook slowly for 10 minutes. Drain most of liquor off beans. Add syrup mixture and bacon broken into bits. Cook slowly in covered utensil for 2 hours. PRALINES 1 teaspoon soda 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup buttermilk 3 cups sugar 1 cup pecans Cook sugar and. buttermilk and soda until mixture form a soft ball. Add nuts and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Drop on wax paper. GINGER SNAPS 2 cups flour 2 teaspoons soda 1 1 teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon cinnamon % cup Crisco % teaspoon salt 1 cup sugar 1 egg % cup molasses Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses, then dry in gredients. Chill dough. Roll in tiny balls and dip in granulated sugar, flattening out as you press into sugar. Cookies will crack over top. Let stand before removing from pan. Bake at 375 degrees. LEMON FROSTING 3 teaspoons grated orange rind 1 tablespoon Water dash salt 3 cups sifted confectionary 3 tablespoons butter sugar 2 tablespoons lemon juice Add orange rind and salt to butter; cream well. Add part of sugar gradually, blending after each addition. Combine lemon juice and water; add to creamed mixture alternately with remaining sugar, until of i right consistency to spread. Beat after each addition until smooth. This frosting is especially good topping a Betty Crocker angel food cake. Senior Lifesaving Class Announced Persons interested in taking sen ior life saving will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the stands at P. L. Downs Natatorium, Art Adam son, swimming coach said yester day. Adamson said those interested should be at least 1G years old and good swimmers. The class will be for boys and girls.
