The board held the picture — despite its shocking theme — could be shown on an “adults only” basis. But one word, spoken by actress Eileen Heckart, had to go. All-Americans of the Southwest Conference TODAY & WEDNESDAY 6 Jungle Moon Men’ With Johnny Weismuller DATELINE AYRSHIRE By Ken George I don’t know about you but most of us thought that Eydie Gorme was something. Jack Pardee and six or seven other members of that Fighting Aggie Football team found a little pleasure and fun on the dark night of November 13. Eydie and Jack sang- a duet, she sang words and he crowed—like a rooster! Pinkie had more fun than all of us. Everyone seemed a little wor ried when Pinkie got close to the mike but everything turned out fine. Everything was fine except for Dfeve Darnalls’ camera. Dave point ed his black box at Miss Gorme and when he snapped the shutter the flash bulb flickered, sputter ed, and slowly went out. One can’t blame the bulb though, look what it was looking at. ★ ★ ★ Major Edwards: You played a fine ball game Saturday, Mr. Wright. Jimmy Wright: Thank you sir. A few minutes later: John Crow: What did Old Cheerful want this time, Jim my ? Jimmy Wright: He just wanted to tell me he liked the g-ame. John Crow: Is that all ? Jimmy: No, he gave me eight demerits too. Note: Wright never wears a uniform except on Thursday. ★ ★ ★ Now that the NCAA has reliev ed itself on A&M, why doesn’t Texas A&M play Oklahoma in Houston sometime after Novem ber 29 and before December 31. The rule says “No post season games.” Therefore we will call it a scrimmage and not a game. We could sell tickets and agree on a fixed percent of the gate for each school and donate the rest to char ity. On second thought it wouldn’t work. The NCAA probably does n’t believe in charity. ★ ★ ★ You know it is kinda ironic that the Aggies are the ones on probation when a Houston school has now and/or has had in the past all or almost all of its football players on the payroll of a large oil com pany. And a Fort Worth school has now and/or has had in the past all or almost all of its football players on the payroll of a large newspaper. But I guess these facts are too well hidden for the NCAA to find. N.
