The win left the Tigers and Cypress-Fairbanks deadlocked in district* standings with 4-1 records. CHS has a 11-6 season record, while Cypress-Fairbanks sports a 12-5 record. CHS has now won seven out of the last eight games it has played. In the B game, Cypress-Fair banks eased past the Tigers 89-82. .The Tiger B squad led at the start of the third quarter 20-18, but saw their lead whittled away in the final period. The Tigers came back from a 20-21 half-time deficit in the A game and tied the contest midway in the last quarter, 40-40. Consol idated then made eight straight A&M Boxers To Compete In Tournament Eighteen members of the A&M Boxing club will com pete in the regional Golden Gloves tournament in Waco Jan. 27-31. The Aggies are rated top contenders for three team trophies. Led by lightweight James Earle and heavyweight Jack Davis, the Cadets have nine entries in both the open and novice divisions. Earle won the regional open lightweight title at Waco last year as the 1954 Aggies lost the open learn championship by one point !o Baylor. Davis, a freshman foot ball player, was a state finalist last year in the Oklahoma Golden Gloves. Earle has had 86 amateur-fights, Davis 18. Consolidated’s Norman Floeck took top scoring honors in the game with 16 points on seven field goals and two free throws. Jerry Oden and J. C. Carroll tied for second among CHS scorers with nine points each. Bobby Adams and Gerald Reifel led the Bobcats in scoring with 13 points each. Adams had been aver aging about 25 points per game, but was limited to only three points in the second half due to some stout defensive work on the part of Jerry Oden. Bobby Potts was the top point maker in the B game for CHS with 12 points. CHS made 16 out of 47 field goal attempts in game for 34 per cent completion. Swimmers Meet Florida Teams Here Swinging back into action after a two and a half week layoff, A&M’s varsity swim mers take on two strong out- of-state foes here next week. After a 56-28 win over Northwestern Louisiana state Jan. 15, the Cadets meet Flor ida state next Tuesday in P. L. Downs jr. natatorium, then tackle University of Florida the following Thursday. These two are the only re maining home dual meets for the Aggies. The Southwest conference meet is set here March 10-12. Road matches are scheduled with Texas, NWLS and SMU before the conference meet. A&M also will compete in the NCAA meet March 24-26 at Oxford, O. BETTER FOODS FOR LESS!
