There Mull be a luncheon Thurs day for the men of the church at which time they will organize a chapter of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. —o— Tonight at 6:.‘i0 the brotherhood and women’s missionary society Christmas party will begin with a supper at Our Saviour’s Lutheran church. There will be a Christmas serv ice of the Lutheran Student asso ciation Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. Rehearsal for the church school Christmas service will be at 7 p.m. Week day mass is held each morning at 6:45 at St. Mary’s Catholic chapel. Wednesday eve ning service is at 7:15. After Wed nesday service the Newman club meets at the St. Mary’s Student centei'. Vesper service will be held at 7:45 p.m. in the Bethel Lutheran church. The Walther club will meet Wednesday in room 6B of THE STAR SHINES THROUGH—This is the final scene of the community Christmas pageant presented in Guion hall Sunday night. There was standing room only in Guion hall, which seats about 1,800 persons. The pageant, “A Star Shines Through,” had a cast of more than 170 local people. BATTALION CLASSIFIED BUT, SELU. Wesley Players To Present Play The Beta Zeta chapter of the Wesley Players will present Dor othy Clarke Wilson’s play “No Room in the Hotel” in the A&M Wesley foundation at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert C. Monk, Wes ley director, gives this report of the play: “This is a modern Christ mas play, full of twinkling humor, yet carrying with it an undercur rent of pathos and inspiration. It shows how a hard-boiled newspaper x’eporter is the only one of a diver sified gathering in a small hotel whose character is changed by the appearance of a poor couple strangely similar to another pair who were refused admittance to an inn many centuries ago.” Cast of the play is Ronnie Hud son, Harold Fox, Aubrey Smith, Don Houston, Ernestine Smith, James Durham, Gilbert Steile and Virginia Ridings. The Walther leaguers will have a Christmas party Thursday at the parsonage and Mrs. William C. Petersen will be the hostesses. Rehearsal for the Christmas eve program will be Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Rehearsals are also planned for Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m. There will be no Bible study group at the A&M Christian church until after New Year’s, the Rev. Clarence Ketch announced. The regular Wednesday prayer meeting will be at 7:45 p.m. at the College Heights Assembly of God. Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. the Seekers class and the Younger Adults class of the A&M Presby- Combined Choirs Present Cantata The choirs of the First Baptist church will present the cantata “The Child of Bethlehem,” Wednes day at 7:30 p.m. Mi's. M. H. Butler will direct the youth choir and Gene Layman will direct the adult choir. Soloists are Mesdames T. E. Ryan, M- H. Butler and C. S. Harris jr. Others are Jimmy Jones and Delmar Harper. There will be a duet by Jack Courtney and Jack Chinn. HILLEL GUEST SPEAKER—Rabbi Samuel Scolnic, As sociate Rabbi of Beth Yeshurun Congregation, Houston, will be the guest speaker of the B’nai B’rith Hillel founda tion at its meeting Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. in the Memorial Student Center. Rabbi Scolnic will speak on the “Ever Living Significance of the Maccabean Struggle and Vic tory.” Beginning Monday an eight-day festival commem orating the rededication of the Temple by the Maccabeans will be observed in many of the Jewish homes and all Jew ish Houses of Worship.
