Page 4 THE BATTALION Thursday, October 14, 1954 Aggies Will Attend Baptist Convention Nearly 3,000 Baptist students from colleges over Texas will gath er in Abilene on the week-end of October 15-17 for the 35th Texas Baptist student convention. Students attending from A&M are Frank Pollard, Gene Hirsch- felt, Joe Van Haselen, Cliff Har- his, Bob Bond, Dub Bailey, Fred die Sassman, Arthur Smith, Ray Downey, Odis Loosier, Hardy Rudd and Swayne Scott. Others attending are Dick Bum- pass, Clarence Murray, J. B. Lilley, Sonny Louie, Tommy Dunagan, James Wisenhant, Wayne Young, Ken Locke, Richard Stafford, (Jrene Layman, Bill Thomas and Leon Foster. Louis McKnight will represent Yearbooks Given At Dames Club Visitors and guests were' presen ted with yearbooks at the Dames club meeting this week. Ex-president 31rs. Bobbye Reich and Mrs. George Potter poured punch and coffee, served with cookies. A centerpiece "of fall flow ers sitting on a brown lace cloth were the decorations. . Mrs. Alga Cech made the an nouncement of the year’s program. Golden State Club Names President Frank J. Hill of Long Beach, Calif., was elected president re cently of California Golden State club at its first meeing of the year. Other officers are Bob Ruiz, vice- president; Pat Farley, secretary- treasurer, and Jake Harper; re corder. Fall Schedule Set For Geology Wives The Geology Wives club, spon sored by Mrs. S. A. Lynch, offers the wives of geology majors the opportunity to learn a few inter esting facts about the field of geology and some of the condi tions under which the families of geologists live. The club’s schedule for this fall semester includes movies on geol ogy and lectures to be given by a member of the department staff, as well as social functions. A Hal loween party is planned for Octo ber 31 and a Christmas party some time in December.
