He was a delegate to the first National 4-H Club camp in Wash ington in 1927, Potts said, and was elected chairman. He was also Texas’ delegate to the national 4-H. Club Congress in Chicago in 1925. Texan By Birth Gov. Thornton, a Texan by birth, graduated from high school in Lubbock County and then came to A&M. At the present all the work is in Texas. © The Austin Bridge Company has openings in their Engineering Department for civil engineering graduates to learn the construc tion business, including estimating, design and construction. They work includes power plant, water and sewer plant, as well as bridge construction. © Mr. Don Vestal of Fort Worth, Texas has 290 acres in cultivation with 50 acres in pasture that he would like to have a progressive farmer live on the place and farm it for him. He prefers some young couple that are draft exempt. Avera and Olian were tripped by Weldon Baiton and Charles Perkins of Bastrop in the Con solation bracket, 6-1 and 6-4. Junior girls doubles team, Helen Holmes and Jo Ann Walker, were beaten by Jeanette Randel and Tracy Pasencik, of Smithville, 6-0 and 6-0. Smithville won the district for the eleventh consecutive year, with Bastrop finishing second and Con solidated third. Anderson and Jackson, who went to the finals in the state tennis tournament last year will compete for the regional crown, in San Marcus, April 24 and 25.
